I’m not a doctor, but it NEVER made any sense to wear masks and that was common sense.
The mask was a method where politicians/bureaucrats show action and give you false hope, making you feel like you have control.
You need to give people something, give them something THEY can do to control the outcome, real or imaginary.
Here’s are reasons and you need to look at them compounded.
1. The virus is FAR smaller than what a paper or even cloth mask will filter, it only filters to a limited degree but that is ESPECIALLY true:
a.) as the mask becomes damp within 15 minutes of breathing (your breath is moist and once damp the whole electrostatic argument is lost). How many people change their mask every 15 minutes?
b.) many people do not wear a mask properly or the fit isn’t right around the nose or the side of the face.
c.) practically no-one, even those lecturing others about wearing a mask actually mask up all the time. It’s a show we put on for others but then when at home, or with certain friends, or, or, or we don’t mask up and that is true usually even at the work place. That is also true even for Biden, Fauci, the celebrities that talked about masking... almost everyone.
2.) We ignore the fact that this virus is still transmissible via contact. It can live depending on the surface and temperature for a very long time and if you come in contact with it and then say rub your eyes lips etc. still be exposed to it.
3.) Most people not only didn’t replace the mask every 15 minutes, but they also even reused them the next day or even over several days. Like a Petri dish, this mask probably poses more of a health risk than benefit since bacteria can grow in that environment.
*** The mask became political. It was all about showing action in crisis (Cuomo, Shumer, Pelosi...), making Trump look bad for not doing enough and downplaying this disease, contradicting Trump wherever possible to make him look foolish. Covid was mostly election politics and the folks in charge today don’t really want to play that game again, so now it won’t matter.
The mask was like many other things politicians and bureaucrats did during Covid. Nonsense for the sake of showing action like closing beaches and public parks. It was incredibly stupid, and even destructive: economically by shutting everything down, alienation of elderly and those with mental health issues, delays in health care, children education.
*** NO ONE can really show you empirically where we did any better because of masks, the shut down and social distancing. But I can show you definitively how it impacted the economy, children’s education, caused for delays in health care, and caused a spike in suicides.
Only if you are dumber than a box of rocks...

They work very well indeed for CONCENTRATING the intensity of the victim’s - er - patient’s exposure to the virus in question. The plan was and is to get as many persons infected and if it can be arranged, hospitalized, where totally ineffectual medical procedures assure a hastened decline of state of health, or even death. The end objective is to decimate the human population of the earth, and to stop “climate change”.
Of course.
There are layers of protection. A properly worn mask is one layer. Social distance is another layer. Vaccination is another layer. Eye protection is another layer.
Any one of those can be overcome by exposure to a high enough number of viruses. So, stacking protective measures is more effective at protecting you than just using any one of those alone.
Only if you’re ugly. Oh, and it is good to be able to identify idiots on sight. So if you are a Liberal, then by all means wear the diaper. Insist I wear one too and the mask is going to be least of what’s in your face.
