Russian units retreat from just north of Adviivka after taking heavy losses over the past few days of fighting. This move by Ukraine is the first time the area came into Ukrainian hands since 2014. Russian forces have finally begun to stop the offensive at Avdiivka to allow their forces to try and regroup and mount a defensive.
Meanwhile In Gaza a senior Hamas leader was confirmed dead after an Israeli airstrike, and Israeli forces are now conducting a two-pronged assault into Gaza.
