There is a big difference between showing interest and spouting blatant propaganda. Every day we have to wade through the same redundant BS. And some of my distant relatives come from Eastern Europe but thatโ€™s no license to forget that I am American first. Ukraine is not a national security risk to the US. Americans are not being killed, raped, or taken hostage in Ukraine. They are in Gaza.

America First. That is an old pre WW2 stance maintained by many Conservatives, perhaps 1/4 of whom were suspected as German sympathizers or full blown Nazis. Of course the US Communists were no fun either with their flip flops as Stalin first signed a 10 year peace pact with Hitler, took part in splitting Poland in half, and then turned on Hitler and switched sides. My parents were very politically active in this period in the New York metropolitan area, so I heard a lot about it and lived some of it as my father was rarely home in the evening and instead was fighting the attempted takeover by Stalin’s agents of the Port of New York in the 1945 to 1950 period. Commie Gus Hall was also leading the attempted takeover of the West Coast ports in the same time period.

Yes, Ukraine is NOT a national security risk to the US. In fact they and their fight to stop Putin/Russia are a major blessing. Five percent of the US military budget is a small price to pay to stop Putin’s romance with the Stalin days and the old red flag, and send him back home to Moscow. By the way, that incident of small drones attacking the dome of the Kremlin was probably an internal fight over whether the dome would carry the old Soviet flag, or the new Russian flag. The next day in the big parade, the sole ancient tank Putin pulled out of storage did indeed carry the old Soviet red flag. Tells us where his mind and dreams are at. So yes, as an American with a clear memory of history, I really want to see Putin/Russia stopped at their pre 2014 borders with Ukraine. I would also like to see them stop bothering Georgia, Armenia, and Chechnia.
