I do too, but mostly because I'm highly competitive -- going above and beyond is part of my nature. And, let's be honest, those dreaded Boomers are the ones that appreciate our kind of thinking; the younger gens are, from my experience, the ones that don't get it and take advantage of each other and that's the problem.
Boomers are just a convenient thing for the time being. Wait until it's Gen Ys turn to get it (I'm Gen-X, the generation proudly ignored lol)

I'm a mid-boomer, born in 1955, and I retired in 2020, 58 years after starting my very first job.
