Re the honey and onions...and then you eat the onions?

I didn't see an answer to this, but I might have scrolled past it. Been doing a lot of scrolling...

You let the honey (or brown sugar, as someone else mentioned) and onions sit for, I think the original post said 12 hours so that the honey/sugar draws out the juice of the onions. You stir it up and take the honey and onion juice syrup by the spoonful, like you would cough syrup.

I suppose you could eat the onions, if you really like onions. LOL

I’ve seen it done with garlic and you do eat the garlic, so I wondered. I’ll try it and see how I like it. I have a few small onions from our garden, this seems like a perfect use. Thanks!

You can eat the onions, but the point is to take about a tablespoon of the liquid.
