I agree. What helps me to forgive when great harm has been done is knowing that the person who caused harm doesn’t realize that they will be punished for their wrongdoing, if not in this life, then in the next. The harm they caused, will be experienced by them, and maybe even more so.

Plus, understanding that I cannot forgive someone who harmed others, nor does forgiveness in any way condone what was done, nor that I have to have anything to do with the person.

Forgiveness is great, but on rare occasions, one might want to beat that plow into a sword and rise to the defense of their self and their community.
