About a year ago, I ordered something from amazon that was originally shipped from a town near, Denver, Colorado. Although I live near Seattle, Washington, after the package left the Denver area it went all the way to Birmingham, Alabama, before reversing course and heading west.
More often, I will see that a package allegedly left the same facility two or three times, went back to a facility that it had previously left, or went back to a facility after it was already said to be out for delivery.

Ten years ago we were probably didn’t have or denied access to all the tracking we see today. Just sayin.
