Kentucky Election Night Reporting
Trump winning in 2016 was a tease.
Central Time Zone (western state)$tarting to report now.
Yeah, sadly it’s not looking good for Cameron. I don’t understand Kentucky… I foolishly thought it was a Red State. Guess not.
Yes indeed - if the Dem candidates had all been overwhelming their GOP opponents with $20 million in smear ads like Beshear this looks much different for those races as well. As it is, it is generally the "generic Republican vs. generic Democrat" result.
*Give Cameron $20 million to match Beshear and this race isn’t even close...it would have been called at poll closing.*
Inexcusable. Cameron winning would have been the biggest feather in our cap. That race is the most important one in the country and what does the GOP do? No candidate should lack money on our side. A win would have made the left $hit it’s pants and we actually helped them somehow. The rats will have bragging rights tomorrow.
I think you’re right. American voters get stupider every year… ☹️
Yes, that’s exactly right. I wish it was within my power to figure out how to get an organization in gear. The Democrats have zero problem getting loads of cash from grassroots as Leftist orgs are very well organized in these “money bomb” efforts. They don’t have to merely rely on whether the “donor class” wants to chip in. We shouldn’t have to either.
For some reason, I thought you were in Florida, not Kentucky. Guess I’m mistaken. Maybe I have you confused with a different FReeper.
Except with these constitutional amendments they’re voting for NO limits on abortion whatsoever. In supposedly “conservative” states. How do you account for that?
Beshear is outdoing his performance from 2019.
Reps easily win AG and Secretary of State offices. And they are poised to win the rest of the statewide offices. Cameron underperformed.
Never stand in the way of a Kentuckian voting for a Democrat for governor. It’s as certain as the tides coming and going.
D 52.5%
R 47.5%

No, I think he has a shot to win VA next year.
The Cameron vote is strong in the “West Virginia” type counties right near West Virginia but there are some rural area giving Beshear a majority.
Beshear winning two of the three suburban counties just south of Cincinnati.
Only they aren’t sleeping anymore. They’re in our faces doing whatever they want.
You hear nothing from Democrats in the state because they’re getting everything they want.
And the RINOs, most of Republican’s holding office in the state at any level, are perfectly ok with all of it as long as they can grab an envelope under the table once in a while.
So did Cameron bite off more than he could chew? Governor is the man. Incumbency is a tough nut to crack. I think his fallback will be SCOTUS under Trump. Failing at governor means he can’t be trusted with succeeding McConnel in a senate race. I’d rather he win today but not all republicans are on the same page like the rats.
surburban / urban is where is falling into a hole to dig out of - those “anti women’s health ads” probably had an impact in northern Kentucky...ridiculous that people would have believed that, but when the narrative is pounded into the minds of everyone without any ability to counter the message...the reality is that very large portions of the electorate are influenced by campaign advertising and messaging and not their own research.
If he was losing due to “racism” he would not be winning so handily in Pike County and surrounding counties close to West Virginia. Those would be the last places he would be winning...at least when it comes to supposed/alleged “conservative rural white” racism, anyway. There are certainly plenty of Leftists terrified of a black Republican winning who made extra efforts to defeat him solely because of his race.
Everyone is focusing on KY, but the GOP is doing very well in the Hampton Rhodes area of VA
