Yes, we were there earlier this year, and that display is definitely falling apart. I was struck at the time by how poorly maintained it was.

We have a (finback) whale skeleton hanging inside a museum here in Grand Rapids, MI. Always a treat to bring out-of-town visitors with young kids to see the whole museum and especially "Finny".
It's 75 feet long and has been in the inventory of the museum (in two or three different buildings, over the years) since 1905.
