I saw footage this morning that was recent showing multiple very unusual explosions. Instead of a blast that spread outward in all directions, these munitions caused a very narrow jet of flame and smoke that only extended straight upward. It was so narrow and contained that it looked like you could have stood within a few yards of the explosion and been completely unharmed.

Obviously, these must be Israeli bunker busters that are not exploding until they are deep underground, with the resulting blast being funneled to the surface through the narrow hole caused by the initial penetration. Amazing to watch. It also caused me to think that if Israel keeps up the tempo with bunker busters Hamas will have no choice but to flee the tunnels for the surface, where at least they would have some capability to move around. Tunnels and underground bunkers may seem like a good idea at first, but when faced with deep penetrating munitions they just make you a sitting duck with very limited ability to escape. Assuming Israel has good intelligence on the layout of the tunnels, the logical strategy would be to use bunker busters to first collapse both ends of any particular length of tunnel, and then work inward toward the middle until the occupants are destroyed. Talk about trapped rats.
