Michigan (as shown on numerous videos) knew whether the opposing team was going to run or throw the ball - and to which side - before the play was run. This allowed them to adjust their defense accordingly.

If I know you’re going to run the ball, I bring up my safeties and linebackers to stuff the run. If I know you’re going to pass the ball, I drop them all back into coverage.

A stupid theory from Nittany. There are few other than UM rivals that think this was much, gave any advantage, or is even true. It's mostly yellow journalism. ALL schools try to steal signs. Every. One. It's not illegal. Which is why this is all so stupid.

Penn State coaches knew Michigan was going to run all last year. Every play. Was that an unfair advantage? Yet they could not stop it and got stomped. The delusional belief they knew run/pass/direction is about as true as all of Trump's crimes.

You would have to be a whole lot better, imagine knowing it is a run, and no need to protect against a possible pass.

Regardless not like it or not it is a rule, passed not that long ago because poorer schools complained that they could not afford to finance sending folks to scout

Funny that now a days you don’t need to find much. A seat and a phone with a decent camera and maybe a few classes on what they need recorded
