Good for you, Judy. We don’t do Halloween either.
And don’t get me started on all that Harry Potter crap!
Ha! I was just recalling something that happened when my kids were about 4 and 6 years old.
We went to one of the rather large libraries to look for some children’s books and as I was looking through, I saw soooo many books with clear occult overtones. I supposed I shouldn’t have, but I started to gently shove the ones that I didn’t want ANY children reading, to the back of the shelf, then sideways, and they accidentally slid down behind the shelving unit, hidden away on the floor behind. Unfortunately, there were far too many of them, so after about 10 of them I had to stop or I would have nearly emptied the shelves.
I also remember a friend of a friend who was really into the Halloween thing. One year she did up her front lawn with all the ghosts and witches and fake spider webs, plus she had three tombstones made, WITH HER KIDS’ NAMES ON THEM!! Can you imagine that?!
