Joe considers Hunter to be the smartest man he knows because Joe has been the recipient of Hunter’s shake-downs over the years. Hunter’s criminality has made the crooked Biden family rich, and that’s all Joe requires to consider anyone as being “smart”.
I can’t help but wonder how Hunter now manages to act like a normal husband, assuming he is. That’s quite an addiction to just get past.
