“You can’t open MOST cans from the bottom anymore”
I didn’t know that. yes, definitely cranberry sauce, and I think there were a few more things that I always opened both ends.
We were never in the habit of eating cranberry sauce with our turkey. But every year I bought a can because I wanted to try it. When we moved from that home 20 years later, there were 20 cans of cranberry sauce on the lazy Susan. Oooops, can we even call that little corner cabinet a lazy Susan any longer?

You can accomplish the same thing by using an ice pick or a church key to just puncture a small hole in the bottom of can. That would permitt amount of air and pressure so the cranberry sauce comes out
I put the unopened cans in the fridge to chill for awhile.
The cranberries will come out of the can and retain the
nice round shape for awhile.
