I heard back from the lady who was my contact at the Connecticut shelter. I asked her if she could be a reference for when I contact other shelters. I know some of them think it’s a scam or they don’t know what shape the cats would show up in. So I think it’s nice if they have somebody to ask what my cats were like.
so, the next step is to find rescues to ask/beg! So if you know of any shelters or rescues near you that have a pretty comprehensive vetting process, please let me know. I will contact them asap.
The animals will show up spayed / neutered, all vaccines, dewormed, flea and tick meds, tested for feline leukemia, microchipped. And I’ll pay for the transportation and the health certificates. The shelter or rescue can keep all of the adoption fee.
In fact, I suspect the animals up here get better care than the humans! Those are privately owned!
