Yeah, I remember reading that the CIA was able to make hacks look as though they came from someplace/someone else. Specifically the Russian fakery. I don’t remember any other details.

Wasn’t it determined that the data rate of the download from the DNC server was too fast to have been done across the interwebs, but the right speed for offloading the data to an attached, USB thumb/external drive, or am I misremembering.... This was the explanation that supposedly led to the theory that a staffer (who was mysteriously killed) did it.
