Matthew 23: 37-39.
It says the Jews who reject Him will not see Him again. It doesn't say the rest of the world won't.
I interpret the verse to mean, not that Jesus is waiting for Israel's acknowledgment, but that His return will be so obvious (like a Lion, not as a Lamb) that apostate Jews will have no choice but to believe in Him.
It's not that first Israel acknowledges Jesus, and then He comes.
Rather, first Jesus comes, then Israel (and all mankind) acknowledge their mistake (but by then it will be too late).
