Vietcong and Taliban were an ocean away from us. Hamas is next door to them. The VC and Taliban were not an existential threat to us. Hamas is an existential threat to Israel.
The US could have destroyed the Taliban and VC if it was allowed to fight with the rules we had in WWII. Once politicians and defense contractors were given control there was no winning.

The US fought the VC and Taliban under completely different rules than Israel. Israel is still going to extraordinary lengths to protect civilians for now. I wouldn’t object to Israel finding the ham-ass leaders outside of Gaza and handling them with extreme prejudice.

RandFan...you must be about 18 years old. In hundreds of battles in Vietnam and Afghanistan, over approximately 20 years both times, the American military ‘destroyed’ the Viet Cong and the Taliban.
By size, Gaza is 141 square miles. Vietnam is 127,881 square miles. Afghanistan is 252,072 square miles.
Respecting the size of the countries, your analogy is almost 1000 times off base (ergo misleading) with respect to Vietnam and roughly/nearly 2000 times off base regarding Afghanistan.
After the USS Liberty incident, I’m not a HUGE fan of Israel (maybe 51%). But, I am 1000% with them on eradicating the Hamas vermin baby killers and mass rapists (as a military/terrorist tactic) by whatever means necessary despite what Putin’s lap boy propagandist MacGregor blabbers almost daily.
Accordingly, and in my opinion, your argument is WRONG. Israel WILL destroy MacGregor’s clients existence in Gaza.
