Israel has hit Hamas incredibly hard today as the ground invasion has continued on in the northern strip, with the IDF still pleading with Hamas to allow citizens to flee further south. Israeli forces are still fighting a pitched battle in Beit Hanoun as well as expanding the frontlin in the area. US forces are arriving in even heavier numbers today, and are expected to conduct force buildups soon.

Ukraine appears to have won the Battle of Avdiivka as there are no further advances today from the Russians, and not much evidence of an ongoing Russian offensive over the past 48 hours.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE BAD WEATHER

Due to adverse weather conditions, 1,045 settlements in 14 regions – Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv – lost power. In total, 306,000 consumers were left without electricity.

Most of them were in Khmelnytsky region, where 400 settlements were cut off.

The 750 kV interconnection line with Hungary and 750 kV overhead power line were also out of service in the region.

Restoration works are underway.

POWER GENERATION

The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the consumer demand.

SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE AREA

The shelling in Donetsk region has cut power to 25 settlements. Some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions are also without power. Repair crews are working where the security situation allows.

CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKAC HPP DAM BLOW- UP

In Kherson, 1,200 consumers remain without power after flooding. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but repairs are slowed down by shelling.

SITUATION AT THE ZNPP

The water level in the ZNPP cooling pond remains stable at 15.69 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
