At this point, he above all needs an immediate and clean divorce, and to protect his existing assets I don't recall seeing anything in there that said they were married. He can walk away from this without any trouble.

Nope...he needs to go to court and have the child legally declared not his. And best not to wait too long after the paternity test proved it.
