Take a 100kt nuclear weapon, drill down, 1000 feet (and limestone is perfect shock conduit), and then detonate. No more tunnels. No radiation unless you dig a well down to the glass chamber.
That would do it. Being so close to the Mediterranean, it might even create a new Crater Lake.
