If I may suggest...

There may be an issue with the “shorty” loads in a Mossberg 500/590/Maverick 88 in that they often don’t feed correctly. Mossberg is aware of this and came out with the M590S.

There are a few adaptors for the shorty rounds. OPSol and Defender Tactical make two of them. (You can google the names).

Of the two, I prefer the Defender Tactical because it is a semi-permanent mod - you don’t have to remove it to shoot regular loads (you have to remove the OPSol if you want to shoot standard loads), and it won’t fall out like the M590S or OPSol mod. Both are about 20-25 bucks.
