i never bought in to that.
That’s ok with me.
The reason I’m here for 6yrs, is my belief in a plan.
A well thought out military plan.
I can only hope I’m not wasting my time.
All the best.
The reason I’m here for 6yrs, is my belief in a plan.
A well thought out military plan.
I can only hope I’m not wasting my time.

Your position is a necessary one and can be reduced to a single powerful emotion - HOPE. People who have hope typically enjoy a better sense of well-being, have better coping skills, and are more likely to engage in healthy behaviours. People facing stressful situations that seem hopeless start to engage in damaging behaviours, disengage from positive activities, and suffer from chronic illnesses, followed by depression and even suicide. Hope is absolutely required to remain strong and resilient. I think our community here promotes hope based on well-reasoned and researched evidence more than anything else.
I’ll go so far as to say that there are very few of us who have never had a doubt about the existence of a plan and its chances for success. But there will be lots of time in the future to feel depressed and full of anguish if it turns out we were on a fool’s errand. In the meantime, and in the absence of strong evidence to the contrary, it’s more productive and healthy to carry on as though there’s a plan with a great likelihood of success and to remain engaged.
