The Oct 7 Hamas military and terrorist attacks on Israel came as shock to many -- but not to surveillance soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) who say their warnings about their alarming observations along the Gaza border were ignored by higher-ups.
Speaking to Kan News on Wednesday, Yael Rotenberg and Maya Desiatnik expressed their anger over the IDF's failure to heed their repeated reports of the ominous activity.
Compounding their rage, the two were the only Combat Intelligence Corps soldiers who survived the Hamas attack on their base near the Nahal Oz kibbutz, less than a half-mile southeast of the Gaza border.
It's infuriating. We saw what was happening, we told them about it, and we were the ones who were murdered,” said Desiatnik. The types of activity they observed at the border was concerning enough, but, even more strikingly, the pace had steadily intensified as Oct 7 approached.
Desiatnik said it proceeded from weekly, to daily, to almost nonstop. In addition to her general visual observations, she said she was able to obtain information about the substance of the training, which encompassed driving tanks to bypassing the fence via tunnels. She told Kan News that she'd concluded "it was just a matter of time" until Hamas unleashed an attack on Israel.
Two other IDF intelligence soldiers shared similar experiences with Israel's Channel 12. “We sat on shifts and saw the convoy of vans. We saw the training, people shooting and rolling, practicing taking over a tank.
The training went from once a week to twice a week, from every day to several times a day,” said Amit Yerushalmi. “We saw patrols along the border, people with cameras and binoculars. It happened 300 meters from the fence. There were a lot of disturbances, people went down to the fence and detonated an outrageous amount of explosives, the amount of explosives was crazy.,p> ” Yerushalmi said she dutifully recorded all her observations, with no apparent impact on the command whatsoever. These four IDF soldiers aren't the only ones who say their warnings were ignored.
Egyptian intelligence officials say they also attempted to alert Tel Aviv. “We have warned them an explosion of the situation is coming, and very soon, and it would be big. But they underestimated such warnings,” an anonymous Egyptian official told the Associated Press.

Sadly,it's now clear that both the Mossad,Cia and how many others we will never know ignored numerous warnings an attack was imminent. The head leaders of Israel including Netanyahu had to have known long in advance that the attack was coming.
We have heard the excuses for supposed intelligence failures. That was never the case. Those failures were used as excuses on the right and the left. They just had too much on their plate,they can't get them all right,it was more than they expected,on and on and on the excuses come but its all bullshit.
Truth is the decision makers let it happen on purpose. It's likely more than just Israel as well decided to let IDF forces,concert goers,innocent citizens take a huge hit from the worst terrorists on earth. I won't go into detail what they did we all know it.
What we need to do now is analyze the bigger question. Why did the Israeli govt. let it all happen since its now clear they they did let it happen. But why?
1. Was it in collusion with the US and others that hamas had to be destroyed and there had to be massive casualties taken by Israel for a strong enough response? Which means the Israeli govt. was willing to sacrifice countless citizens in order to clean out hamas once and for all.
2. Was it clear that WWIII had already begun and we,the U.S., had to get in a little at a time never admitting we had already been hit some 100 times in the mideast without ever a meaningful response?
3.Were bigger and badder powers calling the shots demanding to let the slaughter happen and the ensuing response which could easily wind up as WWIII?
It's near impossible to know why the Israeli govt. let the attack happen. But what is very clear now is that they did get the warnings from multiple sources weeks if not months before the attack happened and did nothing to stop it until hamas terrorists were already killing innocents.
We need to find out why it was allowed to happen so when it happens again in other areas of the world we will have a better idea of what is going on.
