I have a link somewhere of the benefits of running a fever.

The long and short of it is that the fever puts your immune system into high gear to much more efficiently deal with a viral attack. It’s best to let it run its course as long as it can be done safely, rather than knock it down. Knocking it down with OTC s like Advil or Motrin, interferes with the healing process. The fever generates a stronger and more efficient immune response.

Keep in mind, though, that fevers need to be monitored and make sure they are not a sign of a more serious condition like a bacterial infection.

I have known about keeping a fever for many years, over 50. This year I had a fever of 101.5 and left it alone to fall naturally. If it had gone up to 103 I would have knocked it down some with Vitamin C. I would give 500 mg. Vitamin C crushed and mixed with water and a little honey and garlic powder in a baby bottle when my children were 1 to 3. This would knock a 103 fever down to 101 which I would leave alone. Also would lower a high fever of mine by 2 degrees. Never give raw honey to a baby under 1 year.
