Rep. Jim Jordan met the 20 hold outs tonight and they told him bluntly they won't support him for Speaker
This is crazy. They'll never give us this victory.
Jordan wanted to know what they wanted and what the issue is.
Their opposition doesn't seem to be based on anything.
They're just being complete a**holes for the sake of it?!
Kind of like "Never Trumpers".
Anyway, another (third) Speaker vote is scheduled for tomorrow.
Jordan is not quitting which is good. McCarthy had 15 rounds of voting remember.
The plan to empower the Bush crony as Speaker also did not go down well.
I say keep things in limbo.
The precious Ukraine funding in particular will not happen without a Speaker and the clock is ticking on government funding (CR).

Yep, and Republicans will still vote for him, someone will excuse their vote saying they’re better than the Democrat that might take their place.
These Reps are sure “OF COURSE” that it’s their republican constituencies from which the death threats are coming thru or from Democrats? Thus they will refuse to do what is actually right cause they want to stand strong against “bullies”?
Are they receiving death threats if they vote for Jordan and/or death threats if they vote against? The media isn’t exactly clear as to which is which.
It would be helpful if the General Public could start learning who these “lobbyists” are so that we can start targeting them with mass protests along with the politicians. Maybe the lobbyists need to start dealing with John Q Public as well as crooked politicians to get things done. Why should the polticians be the only thing we protest?....the lobbyists represent many businesses that can be protested and boycotted as they too, need to maintain a public image in addition to their lobbying activities.
I’ll get right on it. When reps and their wives receive death threats, they should ask whether the callers are constituents or Democrats. Good suggestion.

Yes... it seems likely that the RINOs are making a power sharing deal with the Dems as they did in Texas: RINOs get the votes and then yield committee power to the Dems. It would have to do with how the Dems can move Joe Bitem aside {and 'VP' Harris} without jeopardizing control of the WH.
If the House Speaker is not eligible for POTUS, next in line right now is Sen. Patty Murray of Washington state.
The Dems have run the country for a long time - run it into ruin. The GOP is just a phantom party now fading into extinction - just like their forerunners - the Whigs.
The only solution is the MAGA Party - populist govt in opposition to globalism {a steep hill to climb.} Otherwise the 'people' will be incidental serfs to global evil.
