My point is you don’t want to be stupid and blame everybody for the actions of a few. Not only does it make you stupid if you do this, but it’s morally wrong.

First of all you have no idea how many people in countries under the control of terrorists are supportive of them, are manipulated by them, and applaud their barbarism. But this “cabal” you speak of manages to “manipulate” the thinking of many people, except of course wise dudes like you who cannot be manipulated, right?
