He shouldn’t have punched her.

If he had a traditional baton, he should have broken her nose with it.

Resist a cop in the performance of his duties and you should have zero expectation of not getting seriously hurt.

Cops have become far too nice, far too diplomatic and as a result have become far less effective.

I remember being in Boston one afternoon in the 90’s watching a punk giving a couple of cops a very hard time. A third older cop pulled up, took quick stock of the nonsense going on and knocked the punk out cold with one punch.

Grew up in a small Indiana town in the early 70’s. There were 4 bars in town. The one on the North side was where all of the Hilly’s went on Saturday night. Cops got called there all of the time. So, I just turned 21 and I’m at the Northside and a “dispute” erupts. Tables and chairs get thrown. Cops get called. In comes 2 cops. One has an Ithaca pump gun. Crowd gets confrontational and the cop with the Ithaca racks in a round. Most of the crowd get quiet however the combatants continue to be assholes. Then other cop takes out his PR 24 and gives one of the assholes a “hickory shampoo” and drags them outside. No arrests, the Hilly’s knew they had it coming and everyone went back to drinking. and that was that.

Ah, the good old days.

"Cops have become far too nice, far too diplomatic"

Ever watch "On Patrol Live"? Does it ever really help the cops to do their job by using the term "Bro" when addressing alleged perpetrators during an arrest or detention? The perps use it too, as though they've been such great pals of the cop(s) all along and have a certain affection for them as they might for an actual brother of theirs. It was originally meant as a term of endearment but has become such a loosely used term that it makes the police look silly, and perps must think it makes them seem cool and cooperative as the cops break out the pepper spray and handcuffs. IMHO, "Bro" is a better name for a dog unless you happen to be talking to your own brother, so let's cut the crap and drop the bullshit terms of "endearment", shall we?
