Be sure to visit the physically and mentally broken US Veterans that are forgotten. It’s sad, even for Boomer Texans.

That is because we fight half ass Wars, and ones we should not be in.

When I was in a NYC Starbucks in the mid 2000s, I saw a stack of New York Times for sale. The cover had a photo of a blinded American veteran, a young man returned from the Iraq War. The article said that veterans were going to grammar schools, teaching kids about the importance of the war.

Remember how everyone was screaming that we were going to spread Freedom! throughout the world. A New World Order (as Bush 1 put it), in which the Axis of Evil -- Evil itself! -- would cease to exist.

That's what they told this blinded veteran. So many young Americans enlisted enthusiastically, and when they returned blinded and maimed, they kept telling themselves it was worth it for the glorious future to come.

Wonder how they feel about their sacrifices now? Bitter and forgotten, I suppose.

See them all the time

And actually, they are not sad, broken down or forgotten.
