She’s lost in her own brand of symbol-mindedness. She either doesn’t know that she doesn’t know or she’s being abusive of the power of suggestion. I think it’s safe to assume that in a year’s time, the hat she has in the ring now will be reduced to just a few small pieces of moth-eaten cloth, however faded.
