Millennials should stick to plants. When they form breeding pairs they should be spayed and neutered.

houseplants are all the rage with millennials, but why do millennials love plants?
Just guessing but I suspect they have the same intellectual levels.

Being able to keep plants healthy is a way to gauge how in tune you are with yourself and the world around you.
In other words, one can bitch and whine to your heart’s content, and plants won’t try to whine with you. And a flowering plant has more personality than just a pet rock. Of course, if someone is irresponsible enough to forget to water them, plants will wither and die off.

I think I see a big clue for the obsession: "Hughes bought a rubber tree — which she named Michelle Obama — after a break up. 'Two months later, I had killed Michelle because of some combination of root rot...'"
Me, I'm Gen-X. I raise triffids. They do not die; they multiply.

Lots of people of all generations of history like houseplants. What a silly story.

If someone can’t keep their plants not only alive but healthy and thriving then they need to figure out what they are overlooking, some people can dig into things and problem-solve, and some can’t.
