You should fire them. Give that work to the competent ones, and bonus them. You are the problem.
You’re a joke as this is a common problem now. These are not supposed to be entry level positions, hence the pay, but there are no experienced people hardly available any more. So these younger ones are the only ones to choose from for these positions, and since we have the need, they get the pay. Instead of being appreciative that they are likely being overpaid, they still just see everything as a stepping stone.
We’ve been through a lot of them the last 5 years, when the problem first started getting bad. The senior people have almost all been here over 10 years, some as many as 20, and they do great work, and we all just shake our heads at the younger new ones. No professionalism, no discipline, won’t even look you in the eye even when blabbering on endlessly. Only about 1 in 4 is a keeper. What’s interesting is that 1 of 4 will be super all around, which makes the others look so bad.
