Evidently the AI programs are now so good that only a few seconds of a voice recording would be needed. That’s what the article mentioned, anyway.
Wow, that’s really bad news.
I remember reading years ago that scammers are collecting voice samples via junk calls. They get people to answer and talk. I became very suspicious and now, whenever I feel I have to answer a call from an unknown number, I don’t even say “hello” — I let the other person talk first and identify themselves.
