“Censor.NET” – Ukrainian news, social and political Internet portal with a popular forum. It was founded by journalist Yurii Butusov in 2004. The portal occupies top positions among the online media in Ukraine.Notice the dates. The site was registered in the US by GoDaddy in 1996. Then it claims founding "by journalist Yurii Butusov in 2004." One may buy a domain from another user, so that 1) Butusov bought the domain name from another, or 2) held it without being "founded" for eight years. No matter, It is hosted in the US, as the nameservers data suggest.Yurii Butusov is the editor-in-chief. The media positions itself as an “emotional news” site. The slogan of the site is the editor-in-chief's phrase: “Censor.NET is a popular politics with comments from the electorate.” The materials on the site are published in Ukrainian and Russian, some of them are translated into English, commentators on the forum use both Russian and Ukrainian.
In March 2015, “Censor.NET” was named the best Internet media of the year according to the national program “Person of the Year”. Yurii Butusov, editor-in-chief of the Censor.NET, received the corresponding award at the Palats “Ukraina” at the Person of the Year 2015 award ceremony.
