All the efforts to spread it are from the West, from the proposed blockade of Kaliningrad, Kosovo, the attempted Dugin hit, the pipeline, the dam, nuclear plant shelling, Georgia attempted Color Revolution... they are doing everything they can to expand the war and possibly bring in NATO.

On the other, military observers like Douglas MacGregor believe the Russians are methodically grinding the Ukrainian military down. If MacGregor is correct, the West may be firing up Armenian and Serbian conflicts to divert the Russians.
