You’ll hear lots of whining about the performance of Iron Dome but you have to focus on a couple aspects. First, the rockets the Hamassholes shoot are dumb, not guided, not homing capable. And we know, so far, that they shot something over 2,000 of them, most of which didn’t hit anything strategic. They are also comparatively cheap, even the relatively big ones.

Iron Dome rounds are guided and homing, capable of hitting a moving target, and expensive-—way more than the roman candles the hamassholes shoot. And they can discriminate. Their radar system is super smart. It knows when each incoming is picked up, about where it will hit. So it instantly sorts the ones that might hit a strategic target from the random. hit-anywhere, shots. It doesn’t try to hit all incoming, just the ones that will hit something expensive. Ultimately, comparatively few ID’s are shot compared to the incoming.

On top of that, the ID system knows where each rocket was fired from. By all accounts, so far, the Israelis have blasted something over 600 Gaza targets-—places which will now fire NO MORE rockets. Israel has a quiver full of Paladins which are self propelled 155 MM bigassguns that can reach any place in Gaza. Two rounds from a Paladin can bring down a big building. Not to mention Israeli air power, but it’s way cheaper to work them over with the 155’s.+

I’m all in favor of grinding the Gaza down to it’s pre 1947 condition. All that concrete rubble would make a great breakwater and harbor for a bunch of civilized people to use to great advantage. The inbred Gazas can go back to their ancestral homes and be happy.

I think that what happened is that the Hamassholes overwhelmed the iron dome with thousands of rockets in a short period of time. The homing defense projectiles can’t take them all down unless there’s both thousands of defense projectiles, and some coordination among them so that they don’t all shoot at the same target at the same time.

I see a future, drone-based defense scheme with cross-communications possible between the drones so that they can better coordinate defense.

You’re right about the Hamas rockets most likely being “dumb” - that is, they lob them at Israel like self-propelled artillery, no real aim, just lobbing them with the hope of hitting something important. But there are signs that they had a few better weapons. I saw some footage of the use of drones, one of which took out an Israeli tank. Of course, a direct hit with the right munitions can destroy any tank as Russia has shown with their taking out of several indestructible German “Leopard” tanks.

There are a lot of other aspects of this attack - how did they circumvent the normal surveillance systems at the border with Gaza. Was it sheer numbers, or some cyber attack that took out comms. And how did th preparation for this attack go unnoticed by intel - assuming that “intel” wasn’t in on it, as I’ve alluded to earlier. I do NOT trust any branch of our government at this point in time, and I’m sure that Mossad is as crooked as our various alphabet agencies.

The reason this has gone on so long is because every U.S. President since Carter has stopped the Israelis from finishing it.

It's the perfect formula for endless war: Never let either side win.

If thing go as usual, in about a week Xiden will start pushing the Israelis to stand down.

The only thing that might extend this is the neocons hoping to link Israel with Ukraine. The traitorous CIA neocon, Bill Barr, said now is the time to take out Iran's nuclear program. This might be a good idea, but I doubt Obama, Valjar etc. will let it happen, because I'm convinced Iran is paying them $hundreds of millions (at least) for protection.

But if Israel attacks Iran, which would entail full U.S. support, then the neocons and others who want to attack Russia might get their way, as Russia & China are Iran's allies.

The world seems to be spiraling into WWIII.
