I think it looked like a Palmer script Q:
*******************
Exactly how each of us older Americans learned to write in cursive.

The young can’t read it. I don’t know at what point we stopped teaching cursive in elementary school. Hopefully private schools have not.

Palmer script

***********************

Both my parents relearned cursive using this handwriting method when they attended business school. Mama attended after high school; Papa attended after he was discharged from the Air Force.

I was taught cursive handwriting using the Zaner-Bloser program, beginning at the end of 2nd grade and continuing through 3rd grade. Our two older children were also taught to write in cursive in elementary school during the mid-1990s, then our daughter about 10 years after.

Sometime within the next 10-year period is when I began having 7th-grade students who had no idea how to write/read cursive. - Off the top of my head, I am going to suggest that would have been about the time Common Core cr*p came along... wasn’t that in 2010?
