This may escalate into the Psalm 83 war in which the nations directly around Israel are destroyed. Some people look on Psalm 83 as a future prophecy that has yet to be fulfilled. Some think it was fulfilled in 1948. It's hard to believe that neither Israeli intelligence nor US intelligence saw this war coming.
