Ok so now thinking about doing that.
[The attacks] came by land and air with Hamas gunmen flying into Israel using paragliders while other units cut wires in border fences and bulldozed walls to enter the country.
Harrowing videos captured by Hamas insurgents using helmet-mounted GoPro cameras and smartphones showed how unsuspecting Israeli soldiers were gunned down in their barracks while others were beaten, tied up and frogmarched away or bundled into cars and pickup trucks.
My question is: how could they cut through fences and run all over a base without sentries seeing them and sounding an alarm? And do we send soldiers into war with helmet mounted cameras?

You’ve captured the essence of my skepticism about the attack. The surveillance on their borders is state of the art and the many watchers aren’t frivolous. They can see a spider trying to cross into their territory … okay, a cat … and are customarily very responsive to breaches of any kind. The only conclusion that remains is that someone wanted the incursion, though the reason remains unclear. Was it to have the excuse to clear out Gaza and return it to Israeli residents and property?
