Before being assassinated JFK was heading towards an almost certain electoral defeat from Goldwater... Something that the media and leftist historians have conveniently forgotten. The Bay of Pigs and Cuban missal crises didn’t endear Kennedy with American voters... It scared the hell out of American voters.
That’s why he was in Texas trying to shore up votes in a state that his Vice President resided in... Turns out that it was pretty convenient for LBJ too.
