Almost ALL alcoholics see the advantage of being sober. There is something much deeper and profound going on in their minds and bodies than simply "seeing their own advantage" can relieve. Anyone here commenting on this thread that is not alcoholic should thank God Almighty that they were not born with the genetic propensity for alcohol addiction. Most classic alcoholics "fell in love" with alcohol at a very early age and had no idea why/what was happening to them.
