As a lifelong baseball fan “Field of Dreams” was the absolute worst baseball movie I’ve ever seen. In fact, it ranks as one of the worst movies of all movies I’ve ever seen. What a ridiculous waste of film. Shouldn’t really even be called a ‘baseball’ movie when a movie about mental illness is more appropriate.
I agree, it’s not about baseball. I think it’s more of a fantasy film.
Bear in mind: Costner was also in "Bull Durham."
I guess you could take your kids to "Field of Dreams," which is something you can't say for some other flicks.

Never saw it, but it made witchcraft and familiar spirits cool with the baseball crowd. Not very cool with God.
And really stupid was that family and friends were worried Costner would go broke taking 3 acres out of production on the farm.

Dittos, and to make Shoeless Joe Jackson, of all people, some kind of baseball hero is ridiculous.
