By virtually every measurable standard, Trump should win the White House in 2024 by a landslide. However, the powers-that-be cannot afford to let him compete fairly.
Reading the most recent Washington Post polls, I’ve got to admit that I’m having to fight the temptation to become optimistic about the 2024 election. Trump is ahead of Biden by 10 points. It’s so embarrassing that the Post had to pretend their own poll was an outlier.
The question is quickly turning from, can Trump win? to can Trump lose?
The answer to both questions is, sure. These days fewer and fewer people like or respect Joe Biden. It would be easier to feel sympathy for the President as he appears to struggle with dementia if he’d been a nicer person prior to his decline, but apparently Joe was corrupt long before he started losing his mind. When he isn’t shaking hands with thin air, he’s doddering off the stage but snubbing the President of Brazil and forgetting to shake his hand.

Trump has no chance of receiving a fair trial prior to the 2024 election. Any trial will be election interference, but there is little or no chance he will receive a fair trial in Washington, D.C. officiated by Judge Tanya Chutkan, who has openly expressed her bias against the former president in the trials of other defendants but has yet to recuse herself.
If Trump is convicted in a sham trial and his case is appealed to the Supreme Court, there will be tremendous pressure put on the three Trump-appointed justices to recuse themselves. What happens if those justices recuse and the court splits 3-3?

I don’t buy that they will recuse themselves, merely because they were appointed by Trump.
Recusal is only appropriate if they were involved in a lower case, then hear it again at the upper level, because they are no longer impartial since they have already formed an opinion.
Nixon’s nominees didn’t recuse themselves.
But the article is correct that pressure will be tried.
If they cheat and win this time, Its over. I mean much more over than it has been in the last 2 years.
Can? More like “will”. If it gets to the situation where it looks like Trump could win in 2024, someone on the left will assassinate him for the “good of the country”. And the leftists would use that event to take away guns from all American citizens.
IOW, can we launder enough money and corrupt the voting process enough to keep the American people from taking back their constitutional rights?

I sure hope that Trump has dependable private security and is not depending solely on the Secret Service. As the Mar a Lago case has shown, at least some of those SS agents assigned to protect him were actually just there to spy on him. If it gets to the point where it looks as if Trump is about to win, I have no doubt that the Deep State in conjunction with the democrat party will resort to the ultimate form of removal of an opponent.

My guess is enough states will keep him off the ballot to prevent him from winning and the courts will do nothing as the constitution gives the states control over elections.

The funny thing is, I’ve come around to what many of my “liberal” Vietnam vet era teachers and professors used to preach. To wit:
- against the constant foreign wars and suspicious of the military industrial complex and the warmongers who want to constantly meddle abroad.
- distrust the federal intel/law enforcement agencies. They need to be abolished or receive chainsaw enemas at the very least.
- Staunchly pro free speech. I mean STAUNCHLY. Prosecute anybody in government who acted in any way to censor or ban Americans for exercising their free speech.
- Staunchly anti monopoly - especially Big Tech and the corporate media. Bust them up into a million pieces via anti-trust actions.
- Secure the border. Flooding the country with cheap labor hurts the bargaining power of the working and middle class.
- Dramatically shrink H1bs for the same reason. Bringing in a flood of them is not the free market, it is rigging the game against American workers to drive down wages.
- fair trade rather than “free” trade. Some foreign rivals like China cheat constantly via currency manipulation, no environmental or OSHA type laws, dumping, non tariff barriers on imports, etc. We need to retaliate with heft tariffs of our own against the cheaters. In addition, there are certain strategic industries we need to have eg chip manufacturing, rare earths, oil/gas, cars, defense components, agriculture, etc.
- women’s sports ie keep the trannies out. If you have a “Y” chromosome you are a male. Your feelings are irrelevant.
- Repeal the Patriot Act are restore the 4th amendment....prosecute the FIB and anyone else who just hoovers up all of Americans’ personal data without a warrant.
- Question Authority.
- A person should be judged by the content of their character or their individual merit rather than by the color of their skin. Segregation is racism. Hiring and admissions need to be completely colorblind.
Holding any of these positions gets you labeled “Right Wing” or even “Far Right” today. Where did all the “good” liberals go who used to support all of these things?

No, states don't have unlimited control over elections.
The Constitution gives states control over elections within the framework of the Constitution and all the rights protected by the Constitution.
