Maui High will be implementing a phased reopening during the week of August 14-18, 2023. We will begin with school staff reporting to campus on Monday, August 14.

Since our gym is currently being used as an evacuation shelter, the return date for students is pending the status of the shelter. The staggered schedule will allow school teams time to assess damage and staffing capacity to ensure a safe reopening.

We will notify you as soon as we have a student return date set. This remains a very fluid situation and we greatly appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this time.

Maui High will also be closed on THURSDAY, AUGUST 10 & FRIDAY, AUGUST 11 to students and staff. Take care and we will keep you updated as news become available.

So it may be students from Kapalama School that sent children home on buses?

Other schools’ students were already at home (alone?).

I wonder how many students have returned to Kapalama School in particular, since the fire. How many went missing? Were the missing on the same buses?

So many questions.
