my favorite size jar is the 24oz once made by Ball....an inbetween size that I appreciate, and of course, hard to find.

That sounds great, I’ll look into those. I always like to save money!
Thank you for sharing and for the link
There are several herbs that are perennials even here in NH. Sage, thyme, oregano, and garlic.
My oregano is growing like crazy. I'm actually to the point of needing to pull it up and just tossing it.
Also, oregano and thyme make great ground covers. Great if you want to surreptitiously plant them in your garden that the local HOA restricts.
Use applesauce instead of oil for baked goods. I use half oil, half applesauce for my zucchini bread and it comes out far better. Now as heavy.
OIN the past, I would use applesauce instead of oil for boxed cake mixes when I'd make cupcakes for events, and everyone loved them.
It also adds some natural sweetness so is another way to be able to cut sugar.
I use the jars like glass spaghetti sauce jars for storing stuff like herbs, nuts, rice, and opened boxes of pasta.
They are basically hermetically sealed and keep stuff both in and out. That way, if you do end up with an infestation of some kind, it either keeps it in the jar or out of the jar.
“How Do You Prep for an Invasion From Within
(h/t norsky, anyone else I have stolen info from)
What can we do?
This is much worse than any other prepper scenario I have been reading about. We have EMP, nuclear, loss of communication and supplies scenarios in numerous books - but I haven’t seen one that has predicted/planned for an invasion from within.”
It’s not about prepping for an “internal invasion” , but outlines what can happen. You can prep accordingly if you know what’s possible, or likely.
Electrical substations.....
One of the many kitchen tips my Italian grandmother passed down to her family was to always cut off the ends of cucumbers because it made the cucumbers bitter.
When my dad married my mom his older sisters taught her to do that and she taught it to us.
And now my generation has passed the tip down to our children and grandchildren...
No shame in that! And you’re recycling, too! :)
Mom and I were at Costco a while back. She came around the corner and said, ‘There’s something in the next aisle that I’ll bet you’re going to buy just for the container alone!’
It was a gorgeous tin filled with teabags. The tin looked very ‘Victorian’ and was the most gorgeous shade of Aqua-Blue. So, yeah. I bough it! ;)

“So we enter a new phase in the war. Cutting under sea cables as well as pipelines. Just another small step into WW III. The treaty with Germany and France to defend Ukraine is another. I predict an “Event” that will tug at the heart and get a declaration of war from the GOP/Prog/ Democrats. Summer war by June. Draft by July. Invasion of Russia by August. Americans will rally around Biden/Obama and reject Trump and MAGA as we go for Victory! See you at the ration lines, comrade.”
mm: In the meantime, we have some time to prepare, which I would do anyways because of how desperate the political situation is becoming in this country. Between illegal immigration and the next planned mail in vote fraud crisis, we’re going to need to be as ready as possible..
Whether your scenario plays out, time will tell. However, I certainly am NOT optimistic about the future of this country without a massive move of God.

DSA team members are visiting homes, schools, nonprofits and community gathering spots,” the release added. “They are also meeting with local officials and community leaders to identify disaster-related issues and unmet needs in the area.”
sounds lovely!!
for a blackout?
Sorry I thought I had to responded to you. I did check out the book right away. thank you for tye link.
I agree, if we know what’s going to happen we can get a better idea of what to do.
“Also, oregano and thyme make great ground covers”
I need to find a place where I can plant both of those. I especially love using fresh thyme. I end up drying the oregano because the fresh stuff is actually stronger, unlike most other spices.
