Bears that haven’t been taught respect for humans are a different matter.

Yellowstone bears are never hunted unless they stray out of the park.

Humans on the other hand who haven't been taught to respect bears (especially mama bears) often end up as bear scat.

Sow black bears are far more known to run away leaving their cubs behind then defending them.

I have seen it many times when hunting black bears.
