Did you ever hear of Trump’s program Operation Warp Speed, which dropped a lot of the red tape so that clinical trials which normally are conducted sequentially could proceed simultaneously? This does not mean that corners were cut. Each clinical trial was subject to the same analysis and FDA review process that is required for all clinical trials.
And it helped that so many people were highly interested in helping get a vaccine approved and available in record time.
As for the election, part of the reason Trump lost is that the antivax (and antiscience) propagandists successfully made conservatives believe the propaganda and convinced liberals and moderates that Trump was responsible for the propaganda. Since I realized months before the election that the misinformation was going to ruin Trump’s chances, I have been fighting the misinformation ever since. I hoped I would be wrong, but I wasn’t.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe all of those leftists who are pitching antivax propaganda at conservatives (RFK Jr., Naomi Wolf, Hollywood celebrities, etc.) are motivated by a desire to undermine conservatism and cause conservatives to suffer and die more than leftists from the pandemic? I even saw someone write recently that he was glad more Republicans die from Covid, since it prevented Trump from winning the election.
