I Was A Communist For The FBI 1951 Frank Lovejoy, Dorothy Hart, Philip Carey full movie
That’s how I first encountered the title, for a the radio show on an online classic radio stream. Only had a few seconds to listen to it at the time, and then when I checked wikipedia I found the film. Thanks for the insight, MosesKnows. I will definitely be listening now. I usually listen to old radio for an hour or so on weeknights.
This and another, Perry Mason/Raymond Burr were SELDOM
missed each week. Another which was syndicated, usually televised on a Sat. Science Fiction Theater. Something similar to the Twilight Zone w/lower budget. That show gave
me nightmares as a child.
You will soon be receiving a FReep mail from me. Ducks will soon be in a row and will have time to send you further info
in those movie sites. Stay tuned. :-)
In the early 1950s, there were quite a few T.V. show with this theme and movies too, though the movies were made in the '40s and into the early '50s.
LANNY BUDD was a book series that was JAMES BONDIAN many decades BEFORE those books were written and continued into the '50s. Sadly, nobody ever made any movies, that I know of, from those books.
Truly doubt I’ll ever watch a BOND movie again. Certainly the onces being made to day are insignificant. Woke Bond? Female Bond? As the years passed Bond became rather passa.
Did enjoy Connery, but favorite was Roger Moore. His bond was full of snappy come backs and really had a sense of adventure.
Especially those in the New Orleans location. The Music, jazz
Even the film with Jane Seymore was enjoyable though was never
impresssed by Jane. However did enjoy her in Dr Quinn.
Demerits are deserved. Never heard of Lanny Budd. Though in he summer months Bookmobile and yours truly always had a date
each time they would visit the neighborhood area. This what
summer was made for. Reading. And so much of it was done. Later in life found the reading became less frequent. Time and responsibility became priority over reading. Oh the joys of growing up and older.
My mother put me onto the LANNY BUDD series. She had enjoyed reading them; however, when she first suggested these books, they had been long out of print, none of the libraries we used had any, so I didn't get a chance to read them until they were reissued in the early 1970s.
Though written by that stinking SOCIALIST (he was also a damned WOBBLY !), Upton Sinclair, these books are very well written, enjoyable, and yes, a forerunner to the Bond books.
They are MUCH better than his THE JUNGLE.
I haven't read THE WET PARADE, but did see the movie and it's interesting; worth seeing.
