He's a miserable campaigner. The nomination really could've been his but he alienated so many. He's run a dated establishment campaign that still pits groups against one another while Trump continues to invite voters to claim their share of the American experience and Make American Great Again.
And as much as I enjoyed the victories, I think his "war on woke" has hurt him.
It's not the "war on woke" per se it's that he did these things trying to act like an alpha while Trump is seen as an alpha. No one outside the fishbowl of FL takes "never back down" seriously because DeSantis isn't viewed as authentic and too many see his wife as being behind his campaign. She's giving off two-for-one Hillary vibes. He's also a lawyer politician and people are tired of parsing what their leaders are saying. As Coulter said in 2016, Trump supporters take him seriously not literally.
There was definitely an opening for an alternative to Trump but I suspect that window is slowly closing. I'm disappointed because Trump has done many irritable things since screwing up his reelection and I'd like to move on. Unfortunately no one has emerged except grifters, hacks and establishment drones.
I do not believe a Trump 47 would be what Trump 45 was or could've been. I fear he'll be distracted by revenge seeking, he'll get no support (again) from his party and it'll be infinitely harder for him to draw quality appointees rather than sycophants and grifters than it was even in 2016. The law fare does not help one bit but there's no better choice likely to be on the ballot next Nov. Sad.
We're in perilous times as we fast approach our nation's 250th anniversary.
Bla, bla, bla.
So who do you think should be POTUS? Just SAY it.
