This is Hawaii. They don't leave old abandoned cars within view of the road. This is supposed to be the result of the grassfire portion of Hawaii's tragic fires.
Even a flame thrower wouldn't melt a car like this (details upthread) and the heat would have to be sustained long enough to melt glass. More than one flame thrower would be needed as the damage is relatively uniform all over the body of the car.
I live in the state of Hawaii. I see plenty of abandoned vehicles in view of the road, especially in back road areas where tourists don’t venture and where homeless meth heads camp. Cars end up burnt by druggies for a variety of reasons, some intentionally and some accidentally. Meth heads and abandoned vehicles go together like apple pie and ice cream.
Ransomnote, you are getting bad information about this. Strong winds intensify the heat in a fire, because they supply lots of oxygen very quickly. I had a campfire once, fueled only with wood. There was a strong wind blowing, and it intensified the fire so much, it melted an aluminum pipe. That was just a small campfire with a strong wind.
